Ingredients
1 ½cupscooked garbanzo beans
3tablespoonsnut or seed butter, such as peanut butter
2tablespoonsmaple syrup
4tablespoonsbutter, at room temperature
1teaspoonground cinnamon
1teaspoonvanilla extract
large pinch sea salt
¼cupchocolate chips, preferably fair-trade and soy-free, [such as these]
Instructions
Place beans in the bowl of a food processor and pulse until crumbly.
Add remaining ingredients except chocolate chips and grind until the mixture is smooth. Scrape into a serving bowl.
When ready to serve, top with chocolate chips. Serve immediately or reserve in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Notes
You can lacto-ferment this dip by stirring in 2 tablespoons fresh whey from yogurt or milk kefir. Make the good even better! The flavor doesn't change, but you'll increase the gut-healing probiotic goodness.
