Prepare the oven. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Low and slow is required when cooking a frozen turkey, particularly if it's large.
Prepare the roasting pan. Preferably, the turkey will rest above the floor of the roasting pan, so either set a roasting rack in the pan or come up with an alternative. Two easy options would be to quarter potatoes, carrots, and onions to loosely cover the bottom OR scrunch up a couple of lengths of aluminum foil to wind around the inside of the roasting pan, such as in a figure eight or in a zig-zag pattern. Place the turkey on top.
Roast the turkey. Roast the turkey until all parts of the bird register at 165°F or above, anywhere from 4-8 hours. (See the cook times chart below.) Different parts, such as the thigh and the breast, will finish at different times.
Rest the turkey. When the turkey has finished cooking, remove it from the roasting pan onto a cutting board or serving platter and tent with foil. Let sit for 20-30 minutes - don't skip this step for moist, juicy meat!
